Centrally located in a newly developing area of Shenzhen, Archilier’s new commission for COFCO Property Group consists of five towers containing offices and high-end apartments above a retail complex – 306,000sm in all. The tallest tower is about 200 meters high. Archilier’s winning design was inspired by the city’s growing prosperity and was dubbed the “treasure box”. Unfolding from a central plaza, the surrounding buildings are expressed as crystalline “jewels”, growing in scale to become shimmering towers at the periphery of the block. Each tower’s façade is a variation on a theme, expressing variety within unity.
